Abstract: A method is proposed by which precast prestressed concrete bridge members may be connected to bring about continuous action under dead loads as well as live loads. The proposed connection consists of steel plates cast into the ends of the precast members and welded together at the supports. The longitudinal slab steel over the supports is designed to resist the live load moments.
