Presents a simple, approximate analysis for various type of shear walls widely used in present engineering practice The continuous sytem method is used and the integral shear forces in the continuous connections of individual piers ore chosen OS the statically redundant functions. Deformations due to bending moment, the contribution of normal forces in the piers, and shear forces in the connectin beoms ore taken into account. Deals primarily with the problem of a concentrated lateral load at the top of the wall; formulas for a distributed loading are given, but without derivation,
