Abstract:
The distribution of steel stress and bond stress along a reinforcing bar was investigated in eccentric pullout specimens and in beams at a crack and at a bar cutoff. Comparisons are made of bond stress distributions was found in the three types of specimens, approximately the same maximum bond stress was developed at some point for equal steel stresses: (a) at the loaded end of the pullout specimen, (b) at the crack in a beam, and (c) at a distance from the bar cutoff point equal to the length of the pullout specimens.
