Abstract:
The effects of creep and temperature on the behavior of concrete structures are discussed. Then based on a specific thermal creep concept, three methods of analyses are de-scribed: (1) rate of creep, (2) relaxation, and (3) strain hardening. These analyses are described in relation to step-by-step methods of solution and are shown to be capable of estimating the time-dependent behavior of concrete structures subject to certain conditions of temperature and loading. It is concluded that some saving of computational time can result from simultaneous solution, to a given problem, by the first two types of analyses.
