Abstract:This report presents a discussion of the materials and practices employed in proportioning, mixing, placing, and curing mass concrete, and of the properties and behavior of the hardened mass concrete. Particular emphasis is placed on the differences between mass concrete and conventional concrete. It is designed to serve as a reference for those engaged in the design and construction of concrete dams and other massive concrete structures.
