Abstract:
Short beam test results indicate beams containing no web reinforcement develop diagonal crack widths at working load levels may present a serious serviceability problem. Control of the serviceability problem and simultaneous attainment of flexural capacity requires only a single verti-cal or inclined stirrup. Twelve short, reinforced concrete beams tested in an effort to define control measures with minimum web reinforcement.
