Abstract:Folded plate roofs enable durability, large spans for reinforced concrete, and clean lines. They are also aesthetically pleasing to many architects. The book considers schemes of folded plates of pratical use to designers for covering large or small areas economically and fives design tables that can be used quickly and easily without the designers actually needing to know how to analyze folded plates. Examples are given on the use of the tables. These exaamples are produced for those using USA (British Imperial) as well as SI units. The test gives the designer practical information on construction, materials, insulation, weather proofing, etc., for these types of roofs.
