Laboratory and field experience in the testing of fiber reinforced concrete has indicated the need to review existing test methods and to develop new methods where necessary to determine the properties of fiber reinforced concrete. This report outlines the suggested procedures for specimen preparation in general, and discusses in detail testing for modulus of rupture. New testing methods are suggested for (1) toughness-energy absorption, (2) impact strength, and (3) workability. The applicability of the following test methods to fiber reinforced concrete are reviewed: air content, yield, unit weight, compressive strength, splitting tensile strength, freeze-thaw, shrinkage, creep, modulus of elasticity, cavitation, and erosion and abrasion resistance.
