Abstract: Note: 426R-74 is No Longer Available. The state-of-the-art of the knowledge of shear strength and behavior of reinforced and prestressed beams, deep beams, brackets, reinforced and reinforced prestressed concrete slabs, and other members is reviewed. The report is divided into five chapters. The first two discuss the general concepts of shear in concrete. The third, fourth, and fifth chapters discuss shear with respect to beams, special members, and slabs, respectively.
