Abstract:
The bridge over the river Ebro at Riba-Roja is a prestressed concrete continuous bridge build by the cantilever construction method. The girder is 10.6 m width, being three spans 100 + 150 + 100 m length supported by V shape piers. Some considerations concerning fundamentals and design of the bridge and a slight description of the main typological and geometrical characteristics of the bridge are presented. Description of some of incidences during construction and solutions defined for correcting them are also included in this article. The bridge was open for users in 1997.
