Abstract:
The calculation of deflections in beams and floors in buildings is the checking of thelimit state service that is most conditioning in the prevention of appearing of damages in partitioning walls. The complexity of an exact calculation has led to stablishing standards for several alternative easier methods, which are evaluated in this communication, by contrasting them with experimental rtsults of deflections found under short-time loads, in order to find out the effective inertia values and the deformation modulus that must be taken in theoretical calculation of deflections.
