Abstract:
The design of this type of cable-stayed bridge requires adopting a lot of decisions, both from the point of view of the design basis and the calculation procedures, since they often exceed the scope of the standard regulations and usual methods of analysis. The basis of the design is defined, both for loads and materials. The different models and loads taken into account are described, especially focusing on non-linearities and their treatment. Finally, it discusses all the considerations for the structural models and the different verifications of the elements specially defined for this bridge.
