The footbridge arises from the need to connect the locations of Parbayón and Cacicedo, overcoming the longitudinal division of the landscape made by the dual carriageway and providing a striking visual reference point on the site. Its architecture, rooted by its massive abutments, rises in one clean and clear step through its twin projecting walls, and flies over the highway by means of its elegant balcony beam, returning again to the earth.This footbridge is formed by a 70.7 m long balcony beam, fixed to both projecting walls at either end. The flying beam is constructed of a steel-concrete composite semi-circular section 1.45 m thick. The abutments, the massive concrete pieces, are used as counterweights to anchor the structure to the terrain and gracefully achieve the geometrical and structural transition between the terrain and twin projecting walls.
