Abstract:
The Pará-Bridge between Posadas (Argentina) and Encarnación (Paraguay) has acqyured a certain renown since to it has been awatded several international prizes. The paper desctibes the development of the project, the design of the structures and the construction methods. The crossing consists of several sections with various structures applying different techniques for each section. The construction proceedings of the main bridge are especially interesting, showing the erection of a cable-stayed bridge using precast concrete segments.
