Abstract:
In this paper a short review on the relevant previous work is given and the applicability of an existing analytical model to evaluate yield stress τ0 from spread measurements of cementitous suspensions is verified for self-compacting concrete (SCC). Based on limited amount of results included in this work, it is possible to demonstrate the potential of the given model to be used in order to evaluate yield value of a SCC mix from spread measurements performed with a standard slump cone. The model seems to be applicable for mixes with a slump-flow higher than 550 mm, i.e. for the complete SCC range.
