Abstract:
A research program was conducted for the study of various quality-control procedures as applied to high-strength concrete. Over 1000 specimens for strength evaluation were cast from 29 high-strength concrete mixtures having compressive strengths ranging from 6000 to 14,500 psi at 28 days. Variables investigated included test specimen size, cylinder mold material, curing conditions, addition of superplasticizer, and cylinder capping method.
