Abstract:
Experiments on the use of expansive cement concrete to improve the mechanical behavior and lighten the weight of precast concrete box culverts are described. Results indicate that introducing chemical prestress to a box culvert allows a reduction in member thickness while maintaining acceptable cracking behavior.
