Abstract:
The early strength of concrete is achieved by a complex reaction involving hydration of the cement, bonding of cement paste and aggregates, and a proper curing environment. It is the authors' opinion that a new approach to predicting early concrete strengths needs to be developed. Fresh concrete data was analyzed to determine if it could be used successfully to predict early concrete strengths.
