Abstract:
"I should like to describe rather briefly the shotcrete design practices that have been followed by the Bureau of Relclamation. In doing this, several different uses of shotcrete in tunnels will be instanced. Reasons why advancements toward the use of the "New Austrian Tunneling Method" have not been more rapid in this country will be discussed and finally some mention of the outlook for use of concrete in future tunnels.
