Abstract:
This experiment was designed to determine the influence of the randomly oriented fiber wire on the bearing capacity and ductility of fiber reinforced concrete materials through the testing of standard 6 in. diameter cylinders of various height. It was found that the bearing capacity of reinforced material was significantly higher than that of unreinforced material. . .It was also found that concrete materials under axial symmetric stress conditions can sustain tensile strains on the order of 13 to 14 times those normally measured in direct tensile testing.
