Abstract:
A simplified method of computing the moment-curvature relationships for beams subject to flexure is presented which enables the non-linear behaviour of concrete in compression and the stiffening effect of the tensile zone between cracks to be taken into account. A means of calculating deflections and rotations from the computed moment curvature is shown to be straightfoward in application and of acceptable accuracy.
