Title: Finite Element Study of Reinforced Concrete Beams with Diagonal Tension Cracks
Author(s): A.C. Scordelis, D. Ngo, and H.A. Franklin
Publication: Symposium Paper
Appears on pages(s): 79-102
Keywords: aggregate interlock; beams (supports); bonding; cracking (fracturing); deformation; diagonal tension; dowels; finite element method; loads (forces); reinforced concrete; shear strength; splitting tensile strength; stresses; web reinforcement
Abstract:Reinforced concrete beams with varying amounts of diagonal cracking are analyzed by the finite element method assuming a linear eleastic model. Analytical modeling of the concrete, steel reinforcement, bond, aggregate interlock and cracking are described.
