Abstract:
Althought Portland cement pipe and tile have been made and used in this country for about half a century, plants for making cement drain tile, as we know them to-day, have been in existence only a few years. Up to about 1890 the concrete was packed into the molds by hand, but in that year this operation was greatly simplified by the invention of a machine which packed the material into the molds mechanically.
