Abstract:
A new field in the use of concrete is being developed by the construction of coal breakers and washeries in the Anthracite Reigion of Pennsylvania. It has been the usual practice to construct these breakers and washeries of timber, but there are certain serious disadvantages in timber construction to the extent that the large coal operators are beginning to experiment with other building material.
