Abstract:
The marvelous increase in the use of Portland cment during the first decade of the lift of this organization has exceeded the dreams of the most optimistic members present at the time of its formaiton. The use of concrete has developed amid better opposition, criticism and abuse to the honored position of one of the most important materials of construction. What the next decade will bring forth no optimist among us today can possibly foresee, for great as been the development in the last decade, the next decade will undoubtedly show that our knowledge and application of concrete at the present time is as crude and limited as it was at the time this organization came into existence.
