Abstract:
There is little experience yet in design of concrete ships and less in design of plants as compared with the well-established building of steel or wooden ships. Changes and improvements may confidently be expected. At this date the reproduction in concrete of the framing and the form of steel design has been wisely adopted, and has been followed by the British engineers and is advised by the Joint Committee of the American Concrete Instittute and the Portland Cement Association and conservative naval architects and engineers.
