Abstract:
The reorganization of Committee S -1 on Reinforced-Concrete Chimneys was approved by the Board of Direction at its May, 1923, meeting, but due to some misunderstanding as to the organization of the committee it was not released for active work until June. The committee assignment was the preparation of a standard specification for the design and construction of reinforced-concrete chimneys and the conducting and studying of the structural behavior of such chimneys operation.
