Abstract:
Electric jacks which leveled automatically, and threaded steel plugs for joining jack rods, offered advantages in sliding-form construction of a grain elevator. Notable were speedier construction, simplier erection procedure and minimum labor crews. Essential factors in sliding-form construction are reviewed and construction procedures described.
