Abstract:
Data are presented on the physical properties of a high-density concrete tested under standard conditions and after heating at temperatures of 85, 200, and 350 C. The concrete has a density of 218 lb per cu ft and a fixed water content of about 4.3 percent at 85 C, which makes it a desirable materiol for biological shields around atomic power reactors. Computed values of attenuation lengths are included for fast neutrons and gamma radiation.
