Abstract: Title No. 55-47 should be of great value in the design of concrete strip footings. A set of influence lines is presented for pressure distribution under a finite beam on elastic foundation. Values of the dimensionless parameter have been selected to cover most of the practical cases. Experiment indicates that influence lines for a parameter of 0.0001 may be used for infinitely stiff footings.
