Abstract:
In statically indeterminate structures torsional moments can be determined only if the torsional stiffness of reinforced concrete members are known. This paper presents a theory for post-cracking torsional rigidity, which is developed using a new concept of post-cracking shear modulus. This new concept renders the theory generally applicable to arbitrary cross sections as well as simplifies the derivation of post-cracking torsional rigidity.
