Abstract:
Determination of the effective moment of inertia as defined in ACI 318-71 for deflection calculations is made easier by the use of four sets of curves. The process of determining from curves the gross moment of inertia, the cracked section moment of inertia, the cracking moment, and the effective moment of inertia are illustrated by examples.
