Abstract:Using an energy balance cracking criterion and the finite element method, it was possible to derive a new expression to predict cracking moments of reinforced concrete beams. Comparative study of results obtained from both the experimental tests and the theoretically reached expression indicates satisfactorily the adaquacy of this expression.
