Abstract:
The influence of fiber aspect ratio, volume fraction, and chemical treatment of the fiber with epoxy resin in the compressive and tensile properties of steel fiber reinforced concrete in the hardened state is reported. A definete ratio exists between aspect ratio, volume fration, and tensile strenth of the matrix and composite. Chemical treatment of steel fibers increases both the compressive and tensile strength of the composite. A greater pullout strength is found in the poxy-coated steel fiber reinforced concrete.
