Abstract:
The staggering concept of shear design is shown to be valid for simply supported beams subjected to uniformly distributed and moving concentrated or truck loads applied at the top. Two design examples illustrate the application of the staggering concept to beams carrying uniformly distributed loads and moving trucks.
