Abstract:
The newly revised report of Committee 350, Concrete Sanitary Engineering Structures, attempts to improve a previous committee report on design, construction, and performance of such structures. This article features the changes made to the old report and notes that present design methods cannot adequately address design for creep, shrinkage, and temperature; behavior of joints; and optimum design from a cost standpoint. Serviceability, crack control, factor of safey, buildability, and economy are discussed.*
