Abstract:
The effect of the intermediate principal stress on the strength of mortar was established for the particular case where the smallest principal stress was zero, by testing hollow cylinders to failure under axial load and confining pressure. The results are compared with some existrng failure criteria, and the graphical system of presentation of the criteria examined critically.
