Abstract:
Bottom ash represents a potential source of reactive material that can provide significant performance benefits to concrete and cementitious systems. These benefits are demonstrable both when assessing its inherent properties and when comparing its performance to fly ash created at the same power generating facility. In this work bottom ash and fly ash created at the same source are characterized and their performance is assessed through ASR and reactivity test methods, along with data from hardened concrete.
