Abstract:
To address the environmental impacts associated with the construction of concrete structures, it is necessary to holistically evaluate concrete based on its sustainability, rather than just performance and cost. Multicriteria analysis (MCA) is one promising approach to the sustainability evaluation of concrete, as it has been applied to inform sustainable decision making in many other fields. This presentation introduces a framework for quantitatively evaluating the sustainability of concrete materials using MCA and discusses how to improve the robustness of the evaluation by managing methodological uncertainties in the analytical process.
