Abstract:
To support larger turbines, and to reach stronger and more reliable winds, concrete support structures offer many advantages over tubular steel towers. Different types of concrete tower technologies will be featured along with logistical solutions for fabrication, transport, installation, and post-tensioning. Under the development of wind-power market in onshore low-wind zone, it is necessary to increase the height of wind turbine supporting structures. Structural safety and economic efficiency shall be resolved. Challenges and solutions will be presented for dimensional control, alignment, grouting, and monitoring.
