Abstract:
Concrete antimicrobial additives and topical sealers have been in use for more than two decades. Three field sites will be discussed where the effectiveness of these products is being monitored. Additionally, the use of colloidal silica has demonstrated the ability to reduce the rate of strength reduction in acid immersion testing, thus providing a longer service life. This presentation will provide examples of testing explaining where these additives are effective and what limitations may exist in their use.
