Abstract:
HPFRC is a relatively new material that is showing increasing use for practical engineering problems including the webs of some large box girders. While the axial tensile and flexural behavior of this material is now relatively well understood, there is much less information available concerning the shear behavior. This presentation shows the preliminary results of the first large-scale pure shear tests on UHPFRC members. They have a volume of 570 liters, include 2% fibers along with internal conventional reinforcement and are loaded in shear in the Toronto shell element tester. The presentation presents the results of as many tests as we have completed by the time of the ACI conference (more than 4 likely).
