Abstract:
Additive Manufacturing (AM) has seen widespread use and growth in various industries such as aerospace, automotive, healthcare, architecture, and more recently concrete technology. With respect to rheological processing of additively manufactured concrete, two distinct approaches have emerged to develop AM concrete mixtures: stiff extrusion-type of mixtures and rapid stiffening self-consolidating type of mixtures. This presentation will discuss some of the advantages and challenges to each approach.
