Abstract:
This talk will cover the performance of retrofitted columns that were tested using a shock tube. These columns were designed as seismic and non-seismic detailed reinforced concrete columns. The surface bonded, wet layup CFRP sheet retrofits were placed on the columns in different orientations to enhance flexural capacity and/or ductility. The test results shed light on aspects of FRP to concrete bond under high strain rates, ductility capacity of columns and performance under blast loads, and anchorage of flexural FRP with transverse FRP wraps.
