Abstract:
In the present work, the authors have studied the evolution of the mechanical characteristics of concrete cured under different conditions. To decide when it is possible to strike a structure, it is necessary to know which is the ultimate strength, therefore which one evolutiones more slowly, and check that with the actions acting while striking the safety level is adequate. That implies knowing the evolution of all mechanical characteristics of concrete under several conditions of curing, as the conditions at job-site may differ a lot from the standard ones. An experimental research has been carried out on the evolution of the mechanical characteristics of concrete made with four different types of cement and under five different conditions of curing. It is given an immediate method for the calculation of times of striking depending on the type of cement and on the environmental conditions during curing.
