Abstract:
In this paper is showed the experience and results obtained in PACADAR in the Self Compacting Concrete development, including the experimental methodology used in the design of the mixtures, as well as the availability and selection of the components. The method of design is based on a separately optimization of the paste and the granular skeleton of the aggregate. The paste is constituted by cement, ?filler? limestone, water and superplasticizer without additive modulator of viscosity. The process starts with a prefixed amount of cement and ?filler? is added until obtaining a minimum amount of fine aggregates. Subsequently the superplasticizer metering is determined. The composition of the granular skeleton is determined according to the maximum compactness criterion in dry of the relation sand/gravel. Later concrete is made to industrial level quantifying its properties by means of representative tests and taking resistances both to initial ages and to 28 days.
