Abstract:
The Segovia railway station main building is developed over the tracks. The side ones are used by the non-stop trains while the intermediate ones are used by trains that have Segovia as one of their stops. The vicinity of the building resistant structure to the tracks makes realistic the probability of traffic-induced vibration problems that should be avoided. The method of substructures is used to predict the vibration levels by using numerical models that include experimentally obtained soil properties using the SASW technique in-situ. Consistently with the levels obtained, different dynamic isolation procedures are proposed for the two track-types mentioned above.
