Abstract:
This paper aims to propose a prediction model of chloride penetration profile in concrete containing ground granulated blast-furnace slag (GGBFS). This model took into account the time-dependent models of chloride binding capacity, chloride diffusion coefficient, and chloride ion adsorption of GGBFS concrete. The effects of water to binder ratio, GGBFS replacement ratio, binder content, and chloride exposure period were considered in the models. The results of chloride penetration profile from prediction and experiment were compared and discussed. The predictions of chloride penetration profile have been found in a satisfactory degree of accuracy with the experimental data.
