Abstract:
Five recent rehabilitation projects completed in Italy using carbon FRP unidirectional sheets are presented in this article. It is shown that this strengthening technology, developed in Japan in the mid-eighties, is becoming an accepted worldwide practice. Structural concrete has found a new technology in fiber polymer composites: the old in partnership with the new. The research and professional communities share the excitement.
