Abstract:
Impact-echo is a nondestructive test method for the evaluation of concrete and masonry structures. When used correctly, the method has achieved unparalled success in locating many types of flaws and defects. New applications for impact-echo are constantly evolving. This article presents a practical application of the impact-echo method to locate voids under concrete slabs. After presenting the basic theory, a case study follows.
